2020-09-04

SEPANG - Malaysia Airports is extending the KLIA CRAZY SALE due to overwhelming response from the public. Initially held during the long Merdeka weekend the sale has been extended until 5 September 2020. It is open to public from 11am till 6pm on Wednesday to Friday and 11am until 8pm on Saturday and located on Level 5, Departure Area in KLIA Main terminal.

This first ever airport-wide sales event is part of Malaysia Airports' continuous efforts to help its retail partners overcome the impact of COVID-19. Through this event, retailers will be able to reach out to a wider market and counter the low footfalls to their physical stores located on the airside. Those who were not able to attend the earlier event, will now be able to grab travel-exclusive, duty-absorbed products at phenomenal discounts during the next 4 days.

Malaysia Airports' group chief executive officer, Dato' Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh shared that the event received very positive response from the public. He said, 'Last week, we had close to 10,000 guests and we expect more guests this time around. Apart from helping our retailers, we hope to also turn KLIA into a destination of its own through such an event. In fact, we have lined up various other activities to support local tourism. One other example would be the recent Airport Staycation Programme that we hosted over the Merdeka weekend which was also an instant sell-out.'

At the KLIA Crazy Sale, guests will enjoy heavily discounted travel exclusives and duty absorbed products by big-name duty-free players such as Eraman, Valiram, Heinemann and Lagardere. There will be discount offers up to 70% on items ranging from perfumes and cosmetics, chocolate and confectionary to fashion and lifestyle. On top of that, guests will be entitled to free parking, gifts and shopping vouchers with a minimum spend.

Guests at the event will have no cause for worry as the airport has implemented many safety measures. While public areas are sanitised once every three hours, guests must go through thermal scanning, physical distancing measures and mandatory use of face masks. Meanwhile, Malaysia Airports would like to remind all guests to adhere to the implemented safety measures and protocols for the benefit of all.
